About Ciera
Ciera Foley is a life long horse lover and an accomplished Grand Prix Dressage rider and trainer. She holds her USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals and has won multiple USDF Championships from First Level through Grand Prix. She is known for bringing out the best in every horse from young horses through the FEI levels. Ciera's dedication and love for the horse and the sport shines through her training methods and results.
Ciera began her riding journey when she was eight years old. Growing up she competed in multiple disciplines including Eventing and Jumpers before finding her true passion for Dressage when she was a young teen. By 17, Ciera had earned her USDF Bonze Medal on her very own gelding, President's Man, a Thoroughbred Clydesdale cross that came from a PMU farm in Canada. President's Man was Ciera's first Dressage horse, and the first horse she trained from a young horse all the way up to the Grand Prix. By 18, Ciera had earned her USDF Silver Medal, and at just 20 she earned her USDF Gold Medal with the help of her coach and mentor, Roel Theunissen.
Continued education as a rider and trainer has always been Ciera's top priority. She began as a working student for Debbie Hill which lead her to a three year position as a working student for Roel Theunissen of Atlanta Dressage. Roel played a huge role in her education and success. Over the years she has taken lessons with many top trainers including Ann Gribbons, George Williams, Laura Graves, Jeremy Steinberg, Paul Belasik, and Michael Poulin. She recently received a grant from The Dressage Foundation for young dressage professionals looking to further their education through training to use with her young horse, Dansemeyer. Ciera currently trains with international dressage riders Karen Lipp and Debbie Hill.
Ciera is now the Head Trainer at River Rock Stables in Harvest, Alabama where she runs a successful training, coaching, and sales program. She has aspirations of International competition, and keeps these goals at the forefront of her training.
